However if that's not the case then you should know that by consuming too many they will be turned into fat. We do need them, so eating them is perfectly fine but over eating them isn't. So to lose weight you must keep protein and fat intake at a good level, but lower the starchy foods. If you do this as well as doing regular workouts you'll see some wonderful results.
